You can buy and sell almost everything in Path of Exile 2 without ever meeting the other player — patch 0.5 gave us an in-game market, offline hideout shops, and a bulk currency exchange, with old-fashioned direct trades still around for the rest.
Trading used to be the part of this game that demanded a second device and a tolerance for messaging strangers. Patch 0.5 changed that. There are now three ways to trade, and once you know which one fits what you’re doing, the whole economy opens up to people who play four hours a week.
In plain English: the Currency Exchange handles stackable things like orbs and essences, in bulk, automatically. Merchant shops let you sell gear while you’re offline or asleep. And direct trades cover gifts, friends, and anything unusual. Buying gear is its own small skill — start there, then learn how to price what you find.
One warning before you read anything else on the internet: most trading guides were written before patch 0.3 and describe a system that no longer exists. If a guide tells you that selling requires a Premium Stash Tab, it’s out of date. Close the tab and come back here.
